Rooney, United’s all-time top scorer with 253 goals, was quizzed on the Crystal Palace defenders move after DC United’s 1-0 win over Orlando City, in which the former Reds striker scored the winning goal from his own half after just ten minutes.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Rooney offered advice to Wan-Bissaka, saying: “Play with no fear. Manchester United is a fantastic club, one of it not the best football club in the world.”
“You have to embrace it and embrace the culture of Manchester United, learn the history and go and do your best. I’m sure that if he does that he’ll be fine and I’m sure the coaches there will be telling him all of this.”

Following the signing of Wan-Bissaka, it’s understood Ole Gunnar Solskjær will push for a central defender and a midfielder in the coming weeks, with Sporting’s Bruno Fernandes reportedly top of the Norwegian’s list.
United begin their pre-season tour on July 13th against Perth Glory in Australia, and if Ed Woodward is to fulfil Solskjær’s wish of completing business before the tour begins, there’s a busy few weeks ahead for the United CEO.
