Manchester United starlet Mason Greenwood has shared his delight at signing a new contract at the club whilst insisting he’s ready to show the world what he can do when given the chance.
The teenager, who turned 18 earlier this month, has featured in both of United’s Europa League fixtures thus far and is expected to be included once again during Thursday’s clash with Partizan.
Speaking to the club’s official website after signing a new contract at Old Trafford, Greenwood said: “I’ve been here since the Under-7s and worked through the ranks from Under-14s, Under-15s, Under-16s and Under-23s and, finally, the first team. I’ve signed a professional contract and it means the world to me.”
“I’ve been here so long and it’s what I worked up to and worked hard for. I’m going to show everyone what I can do in the times I come on, or if I play games, and in training, I’ll try my best and give it all for the team.”
After multiple departures from the club, including forward Romelu Lukaku, Greenwood’s emergence in the first-team has only come sooner, and the youngster believes the rest of the squad have helped him settle in, revealing: “They’re all nice lads and they all really help you when you go up for the first time. Obviously, they know how it feels. It helps that they have been there and they helped me a lot.”
