Manchester United are set to offer want-away striker Romelu Lukaku to Juventus as the Red Devils pursue a deal for Argentine Paulo Dybala before the transfer window slams shut.
Lukaku, who has been linked with a move to Inter all summer, failed to feature once during United’s pre-season tour with an injury said to be keeping the Belgian out, though negotiations with the Serie A side are more than likely the reason.
Now, however, the situation has changed rapidly with Inter’s failure to meet United’s demands meaning talks have begun about a possible Lukaku-Dybala swap deal, according to Di Marzio. Antonio Conte has made it clear that Lukaku is a target, but the Italian club had their latest offer of €60m plus add-ons rejected.
Lukaku’s willingness to move to Turin is still unknown, with Inter being the 26-year-old’s dream move due to wanting to work under Conte, though a move is dependent on Inter coughing up the fee demanded by United. It’s believed the Nerazzurri are preparing an improved offer of €70m plus add-ons in the coming days.
Dybala has been linked with a move to Old Trafford before and his friendship with Paul Pogba would not only help the attacking midfielder settle in, but boost the club’s hopes of keeping Pogba after a summer of reports linking him with a return to Juventus and a move to Madrid.
