Former Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri is reportedly learning English in an attempt to secure a managerial move to the Premier League in his next venture, with Manchester United in his sights.
Allegri, who left the Bianconeri earlier this year, won eleven honours during his time in Turin, lifting five Serie A titles, four Copa Italia’s, and two Supercoppa Italiana’s in a five-year spell.
According to a report from Fabrizio Romano in the Guardian, Allegri believes Old Trafford is a possible destination for himself with United only picking up nine points from seven games in the Premier League under Ole Gunnar Solskjær so far this season.
Despite the Italian’s interests, the Red Devils have no current plan to dismiss club-legend Solskjær, who is understood to be trusted to follow through with the club’s newly-adopted strategy as opposed to the chopping and changing approach that has failed to bring success at Old Trafford since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.
Should things continue to deteriorate, Allegri would be likely to feature on the club’s shortlist for Solskjær’s replacement, though it would epitomise the lack of footballing brain’s at the club should they now once again flip the script and opt for Allegri’s pragmatism after searching for free-flowing football following José Mourinho’s exit.
